I also want to add that queer (and left leaning spaces in general) do tend to be extremely closed off towards people who fall into the "normal" category because we're so used to being attacked within these spaces.

It took up until I was seventeen to even consider that I could be genuine friends with and have common interests with these people. Seventeen years even though most of those were founded upon me being odd and different than everyone else! How fucked up is that?

I, a trans man, refused to talk to cis dudes because I was convinced that every single one of them could see straight through me and only see girl.

My own internalized misogyny and sexism hindered me from making some of the most impactful and foundational relationships sooner.

What I'm trying to say is that maybe, just maybe, the reason we dog so much on straight people for being straight isn't just because they're different than us and the source of a lot of our trauma.

Maybe it's because we keep telling ourselves that there's no way in hell that they'd actually accept us and we don't put in the effort of proving ourselves wrong.

Hot take but I really do think that some of y’all need to consider how/why/when/how often you’re making fun of straight people for being straight

I do it too, I’m not going to pretend I don’t make jokes about the hets, or the down with cis bus, or whatever

But I recently befriended a cis, straight dude and I have watched him be dismissed, degraded, and unambiguously insulted for the perceived “crime” of being straight — all in queer environments where he is allegedly “completely welcome” and surrounded by “friends”

This guy is not a toxic person! But I have seen him be made to feel so small and like his comfort and safety in those spaces are conditional on his silence and acceptance of being treated like a human dunk zone, and I think that some of y’all have had so much shit from straight/cis people that the second you feel like you’ve got an inch, you want to luxuriate in the perceived catharsis of bullying someone who— actually —doesn’t deserve it

And until he very, very carefully mentioned to me in private that it makes him feel bad, I didn’t even clock that I was involved in doing that, that it had become so instinctive for me to make casual jokes like that, and that— well meaning or otherwise —I had been contributing to an environment that made someone I really really like feel like shit

So, I dunno, I think maybe some of y’all should think about that too

She has extreme trauma from being severely abused by her father all through her entire life (things done to her include: being tied to a chair for hours, beating her commoner friend half to death, having her shoved in a sack and shipped off to the Officers Academy after his abuse had, but that point, made her too anxious to leave her room). Because of this trauma, she has extreme anxiety, refusing to leave her room and assuming everyone is out to get her.

On paper, it's a pretty good representation of sevete issues caused by trauma (makes me think of AVPD actually), but in practice? It's used for... weird waifu bait. She's treated as the uwu shy one who you have to protect. Her S support CG literally has her standing below you making an... interesting face. Just the way she's often portrayed feels way too much like they were trying to make her a cute anime archetype rather than a good representation of the results of trauma.

The fandom, for the most part, treats her one of two ways: they either take the waifu bait and make her their uwu cute shy girlfriend, or they say she's annoying and lame. Which is honestly not their fault because the writers just fucked up the portrayal of her character sooo bad.

I personally don't think she was of rich upbringing particularly . I mean the horse comment could mean that , but it could also mean something else , like perhaps growing up on a farm ?

Which leads me to believe that regardless of whether she was from a rich family or a farm family , her upbringing was with a family that was extremely traditional . And I think with the farm idea that would hit harder , because a rich family doing the prim and proper tea ceremony and dancing lessons just feels par for the course yaknow ? But the lower class farm folk pushing the traditionally girly mentality on their child , as well as a mentality to stay positive no matter what just feels more in line with how she behaves .

Though you could argue that even rich they would do this , but often times in media the rich families really have no problem being dicks and trashing on the common folk . But the whole southern vibe has that shtick of going "aw bless your heart" in a way that sounds nice but means you're fucking STUPID ....

Ragatha is constantly being super nice , but it seems she doesn't actually like certain people . Gangle says it's hard to tell when she's being genuine .

thinking about the scene in Reign Storm where Vlad is helping them finish building the Ecto Skeleton, and in the scene where he's building it, he's in this like pinkish button down and overalls, but then in the next scene, he's putting his suit jacket on, and he's back in the clothes he usually wears.

This implies that he just... The antaam fucked over rivain, theyve been a thorn in the whole nations side for a long time now, they would not pass up a chance for payback via full scale naval warfare so that the veilguard can do what they need to!! Sure dreadnoughts are dangerous but at this point they probably have tricks up their sleeve, thats one of the few things they have!

also wouldn't it be personal because does solas not try to blow up kont-aar because he's trying to 5d chess tevinter and the qunari into destroying each other. like. i know technically this would not be incredible widespread news because the attack was stopped, but i don't think the wonderful citizens of kont-aar would have missed the tsunami that nearly hit them and the shockwave that actually hit them. rumors go around. and i assume irian/vadis tell varric. who i think would tell isabela. who would tell the group she leads. who would care because ofc, they LIVE IN RIVAIN, and now know that solas and his followers thinks they can trade rivaini lives* to further his plans.

*while i also think there's probably a divide between kont-aar and the rest of the nation, it's one that the rivaini love to jump across and back over. an interesting comparison to be made here with most of rivain having similar sentiments towards dairsmuid and the chantry. like this is the country specifically mentioned to have a lot of citizens who follow the qun/are non-andrastian + it being MUCH more multicultural and accepting than other nations. any attack on rivain, even if it's a qunari settlement, would fan a lot of flames that solas cannot put out so the idea of trying to him taking multiple steps back because he didn't realise how intensely the qun/rivaini/lords would react is very fun for me. it would have been soo interesting for rivain to be a hub for efforts against solas because of how it's not influenced by andrastianism, how he (or his agents) specifically fucked them over, and (maddeningly for solas) also part of this resistance has spirits who willingly guide them against him. this could have even been a plot device where the door goes both ways and solas finds out rook's plans because he manages to eavesdrop through a seer or something.

and on the spirits. all the stuff where the mourn watch regularly communicates with spirits could have been done with rivain as well, and with different takes on being 'friendly' with spirits. iirc there's a spirit in the hall of valor which is so interesting but it's literally just there for flavour text. THERE'S A SPIRIT IN THE HALL OF VALOR THAT DOES NOTHING BESIDES LIKE. SAY HI. ??? bioware i would have liked to see more spirits and seers and the matriarchal pantheists you have talked about please. and also the idea of the peaceful qunari settlement being pushed to protect the country they are part of and what that means for them as qunari vs. rivaini. taash's storyline could have contributed to this . so A LOT less about choosing a side, more about how kont-aar has developed, changed, how rivain has influenced it and what it means to be qunari. not the qunari agents and fighters that we have seen, but their 'civillian' way of life in kont-aar.

complete waste not seeing any of established lore reflected in the lords of fortune or rivain because i stupidly actually thought we were going to see some kind of settlement and be introduced to a very different cultural norms.. in my beautiful mind i like to think taash is a little taken aback by how badly mages/elves/etc are treated. like they understood it was different outside of rivain (they would have been young when the dairsmuid circle annulment happened right? so they don't 'remember' it themself, they likely heard others talking about it when they're old enough to understand) but until they actually saw what was happening first hand, they had a weird dissonance about it. but what we got was a deserted beach, ties to another faction (wardens are fine!! they are great !!!! the fourth blight is interesting!!!! yet they are not the faction with a lack of info about them!!!!!) and also the hall of valor that exists as flavor text with nothing meaningful behind it besides a pub used in a few cutscenes and a minigame.

A) Speedsters can possess the bodies of other speedsters by phasing into the host speedster's body and/or turning into pure energy and merging with the host body via the host's speedforce connection.

B) Speedsters can fuse with other speedsters. During this fusion they 'share' a brain and thought processes.

C) Fusion differs from possession in that fusion relies on both parties sharing control. Possession is easier as only one speedster is in control and it sidesteps the risk of a fusion falling apart due to differing mental states/thoughts. Fusion requires a deep connection and a strong bond to work.

D) Wally and Bart have such a strong bond that they can speak to each other through the speedforce and sense each other's emotions from anywhere in the world.

Conclusion:

DC has the ability to unleash a fusion of Bart and Wally upon the world and they have not yet done so. This is criminal. Imagine the shenanigans. The confusion. The hilarity. Especially if they accidentally do it. DC don't be a coward.

Revelation: my whole life, when I've responded to sarcasm seriously, people have been like "uh...why you so serious... I was being sarcastic..." and it makes me insane because like... duh? People at Wihuwte either ship him with Kemakka, simping at him (I mean... I do too ngl dude's a snacc XD), or already predicting him being a bad guy (I... somehow though he's a double agent at worst), meanwhile I am in awe with how similar he looks with Avenel (the Timid Trader/Bandit from DT Phys. Ranged Role Quest).

It got to the point where I actually made them twin brothers separated by circumstance (Avenel's Turali birth name being Awetihwe) in Cole's storyline.

The story is that, when they were kids (around 8-10 at most), they tried to escape their increasingly unhinged outlaw Da not long after their Ma died from unnamed illness. Only Avenel made it across the salt while Wihuwte unfortunately got caught by the Da's underlings.

Avenel got found by an Ul'dahn merchant and grew up under their tutorage, though since he refused to talk about himself - not even his name - as a sort of defense mechanism in fear of being found by mercenaries sent by his Da, he's christened with his current name by said merchant and he himself claimed to strangers that he's born and raised in Ul'dah from then on. When his parent figure died, he took over their business but either not as savvy as them as a merchant or oversaturation in market that he had a hard time keeping up (leaning towards the latter atm) to the point of struggling financially, leading to him being taken by Chalteaufite's lies and participating in the Elezen's criminal activities in order to make ends meet.

Wihuwte meanwhile had to grow up under the Da and his gang's suffocatingly watchful eyes until he managed to sneak out from the Da's grasp many years later and went to where Hhusatahwi is now to sign up as a Duskwatch (or proto-Duskwatch, I forgot how long had Duskwatch exist) so that he could stifle down criminals like his Da was. Though with how stretched thin the Duskwatch were despite their best efforts, he got disillusioned and Zekowa's gang forming sort of made him snap to the point where he took control over the Daybreaker with the intention of starting a gang war against both his Da (for the mistreatment he done) and the Duskwatch (for, in his eyes, not doing enough), only resorting to stealing and selling stuff in the Black Market due to needing the funds and equipment first before doing so.

I know Patch quests could throw a wrench on their entire background story but like... Idk I just went crazy for these 2. I can understand Avenel being confined within Role Quests stuff but by God do I find Wihuwte utterly underutilized. Maybe cuz I have high expectation coming into the Shaaloani part after watching so many RDR2 clips and playthrough, but I feel like there's more to him than meets the eyes (Zekowa and Kemakka probably too but I felt this strongly on Wihuwte).

Bonus: Have the twins' family photo when they were kids and after both got released from jail (and Avenel finally has the courage to sail back home) :D
